Training: ISO 14001 Fundamentals Workshop
ISO 14001:2004 Fundamentals Workshop
In today’s world the care for the environment is ever increasingly important. We have moved through a transition from the compliance/ reactive model of isolating and controlling the environmental “end of pipe control” of the 1970’s to one of integration of environment with ethics and sustainable development.
ISO 14001:2004, the international Environmental Management System (EMS), provides a framework for both service and manufacturing organizations who wish to establish a sustainable environmental policy and manage environmental aspects and their impacts. This workshop provides an understanding of the ISO 14001:2004 and the steps required to implement this system.
Environmental management encompasses a full range of issues, including those with strategic and competitive implications. A well designed EMS can help an organization address its regulatory demands in a systematic manner thereby reducing the risk of non-compliance. It can also help address non-regulated issues such as pollution prevention, odour management, water and energy conservation while promoting stronger operational control, and as a result reduce inefficiency and waste.
