Organization Needs Assessment
An Organization Needs Assessment identifies training requirements that improve employee productivity by enhancing individual skills, knowledge and critical core competencies. If an Organization has seen either rapid “Breakthrough” change or more gradual incremental changes over time, a current Organization Needs Assessment is critical. Often job functions change over time, and the skills required in the past are not those needed for the future. Job functions overlap and often the person responsible for one job function is in reality performing parts of others. An Organization Needs Assessment reveals these crossover patterns as well as gaps that everyone is filling while no-one is assigned to them.
A comprehensive Organization Needs Assessment:
- Reveals gaps, overlap and training requirements
- Outlines the barriers to achievement and benchmarks continual improvement efforts
- Improves the selection of appropriate training activities and subject material required to satisfy specific employee training needs to meet the Organization’s needs
- Furnishes data aiding management's strategic quality planning
- Provides an understanding of the training return-on-investment expenditure
- Prepares the Organization for future changes
nanoQuest inc. develops macro-level Organization Training Strategies and micro-level individual On-the-job Training Plans. Each Organization Needs Assessment intervention that our firm develops is unique and based on the organization's overall goals and strategic objectives.
Individual Training Plans are based on a Competency Skills Assessment Matrix that determines the range of the skills required for each job function. The matrix details a specific task analysis and results in an effective tool for training, assessment and growth opportunities.
